| Mac Walker |
| Digital Director, Hyro |
 |
 |
 |
Mac has worked in advertising, publishing and television since 1984, but moved into digital media from the early 1990s. He originally joined Hyro as its creative director in 1995, and returned after a long absence as digital director in 2008.
In the meantime Mac has held a number of senior management and strategy roles in the digital industry:
• At Singtel-Optus and 3 Australia he worked as the portal strategy manager of their mobile portals. As well as managing strategy for these portals, he sponsored personalization, customization, mobile payments and affinity marketing projects.
• As a senior consultant at Ericson he worked with both the telecommunications and media sectors throughout Australia and Asia to create new markets for Ericsson.
• Based in Paris and London, he managed the launch of mobile media services to 80 million Vodafone customers across Europe.
• Managed the strategy and launch of version 3 of Telstra’s homepage.
• As creative director at Network Seven, developed strategy and managed the production for Seven’s digital media.
• Oversaw the quality and production of sites at the Microsoft Network as creative director
Mac concentrates on building successful digital customer interfaces for his clients and not awards; which is just as well, because he doesn’t have any.
