Emily Sawtell
Founder and Managing Director, GradeGuru.com
Emily Sawtell is the Founder and Managing Director of GradeGuru.com, a study-notes sharing Web site for college students. GradeGuru is the first initiative of the New Business Ventures team at McGraw-Hill Education, of which Emily is the Director. Emily has a passion for education and the power of technology to help every student succeed. GradeGuru is Emily's second start-up. Her entrepreneurial career began with Macquarie Premium Funding, a business offering an innovative financial product for SMEs, which she co-founded while at Macquarie Bank, an Australian investment bank, and which quickly became a market leader in Australia and the UK. Emily's background is in strategic management consulting, having worked with clients in Australia and Thailand for Booz Allen and Hamilton and in the US for the Boston Consulting Group. Emily now works across London and New York. She holds a BSc in Information Technology from the University of New South Wales, Australia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
