North American Only

SPEAKER SUBMISSIONS
What
are we looking for when reviewing speaking submissions?
We select speakers to participate at ad:tech on the basis of their expertise
and knowledge of the industry, their ability to share exclusive research
and case studies to educate the audience and their proven public speaking
skills.
What
speaking topics are of interest at ad:tech?
To get the best sense for the topics of interest at ad:tech, we suggest
that you review a recent conference schedule on the ad:tech Web site.
We're always looking to include new marketing strategy, emerging platforms
and research, so we welcome any suggestions you might have. |

SPEAKER SELECTION
What
is ad:tech's process for selecting speakers?
Who programs the show? Each ad:tech North
American event is programmed by our content
team in collaboration with our board
of advisors.
When are speaker selections made? After each
speaker submission deadline, we review the submissions we receive and
generally select speakers within 3 to 4 weeks.
Will you notify me if I'm not selected to speak? Although
we appreciate every submission we receive, due to the overwhelming
volume, it is not feasible for us to contact you unless we select your
submission. However, you can email warren@ad-tech.com at
any time to inquire about the status of your submission.
What
are timelines/deadlines for speaker selection?
Typically we begin planning each conference 5 to 6 months in advance
to give us enough time to request speaker submissions, develop the conference
schedule and market the conference to attendees. We issue separate speaker
calls for each North American event, and the deadline for submissions
is typically about 6 weeks after each call for speakers is issued.
Are
there any speaking opportunities tied to sponsorships or exhibiting?
No. We select speakers on the basis of their editorial and educational
merits and do not grant any special consideration to speakers associated
with companies or organizations exhibiting at or sponsoring ad:tech.
Do
I have to complete the speaker submission form or can I just email
you or call you with ideas?
Due to the number of speaker proposals we receive, we require that
all submissions be submitted through the Web site speaker submission form
for each event. We do not accept speaker proposals over the phone or via
email.
How
do you select keynote speakers? Can I offer up some suggestions?
We select keynote speakers with input from our board of advisors. Keynote
suggestions are greatly appreciated, but please keep in mind that we
often need to confirm keynotes far in advance of each event to secure
the level and quality of speaker required and keynote speaking opportunities
are very limited.
How
do you select session moderators?
We select moderators who have proven themselves in this role at previous
events, who have the time and expertise to organize and manage a panel
of speakers and who have insight for suggesting the best experts in the
field as panelists to contribute to the discussion.
If
I'm a vendor or solution provider, how can I improve my chances of
being selected?
If you are a vendor or solution provider, we recommend that you confirm
that you can bring a BRAND-named client to co-present with you to increase
your chance for selection. The brand marketer can be business or consumer-oriented. |

in their titles. |

SPEAKER PARTICIPATION
What
do I get for speaking at ad:tech?
Speakers receive a full-conference pass that grants them access to the
entire show (including the Exhibit Hall floor, all conference sessions
and the speaker lounge), an invitation to a speaker-only reception at the
event as our way of saying thank you for speaking and access to a very
targeted audience of agencies, brands, publishers, technologists, VCs,
analysts and media attendees.
Do
you cover travel, accommodation and expenses?
Speakers are responsible for providing their own accommodations and travel
expenses to get to the event. We offer a discounted room rate available
for all attendees and share this information with the speakers as soon
as possible.
Do
you provide resources for marketing the event to my readers/customers/colleagues?
Yes. Each speaker receives appropriate co-marketing materials including
HTML and text email invites, banner advertisements, etc. that reflect
the speaker friends and colleagues registration discount and help speakers
promote their speaking opportunity at ad:tech.
Where
can I find a current press list?
ad:tech shares a list of confirmed press attendees for the event with
speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors before each event but we do not distribute
these lists to outside third parties. |

EVENT INFORMATION
What
are the session formats?
Most speaking opportunities at ad:tech are panel presentations led by an
individual moderator and 3 to 5 panelists. Moderators must demonstrate
a proven ability to communicate and organize the panelists leading up to
the event, control the discussion (i.e., help drive the conversation on
stage) and keep the audience engaged. We also include as many workshops
and solo presenters as possible to educate the audience and allow for more
dedicated and intimate learning experiences. Finally, we typically have
anywhere from 2 to 5 keynote presentations before the entire conference
attendee delegation consisting of solo presenters, keynote roundtables
and one-on-one interviews.
Is
the session schedule available for viewing during the speaker proposal
window?
The session schedule is usually not available while we are still accepting
speaker proposal submissions, but we encourage you to review the session
schedules from previous ad:tech events to better understand the types
of sessions and topics we're looking for. We typically post the session
schedule for a particular event on the ad:tech Web site shortly after
the event registration form goes live.
What
is a session moderator responsible for?
Moderators must demonstrate a proven ability to communicate and organize
the panelists ahead of the event as instructed by ad:tech, control the
discussion and help drive their panel's conversation at the event, ensure
that their panel is educating the audience rather than selling to it,
recap the discussion and provide key takeaways for the audience and keep
the audience engaged during the session presentation.
What
are panelists responsible for?
Panelists are responsible for communicating with their moderator and
fellow panelists before the show, as well as preparing and presenting
content, research, case studies, slides or other A/V previously agreed
upon with the rest of the panel members. Panelists must contribute to
the discussion by staying on topic within the allotted time and educating,
not selling to, the audience.
Can
I get free tickets or discount tickets for my colleagues?
Speakers are provided with a deep discount to share with friends and
colleagues and appropriate marketing materials to help them invite their
colleagues, co-workers, customers and readers to the event. Although
each speaker receives a free full-conference pass, we cannot extend full-conference
passes to third parties.
How
do I get my assistant/PR person/colleague into just my session?
If a speaker requires assistance when setting up for his or her presentation,
we do occasionally extend a single-session pass if we have available
seating in the speaker's session room. ad:tech reserves the right to
extend or refuse these single-session passes as details may warrant.
How
long is each speaking opportunity?
Each session is typically 1 hour and we encourage
moderators and speakers to save at least 10 to 15 minutes of this hour
for audience Q&A. If you are participating as a panelist, you will
typically have between 8 to 12 minutes to present to the audience. |
